Camp Horizon

July 22-26, 2013

 

Camper Check-In:  July 22nd, 1:00 pm

 Camper Check-Out:  July 26th, 11:00 am

 

A few things you should know:

1.              Registration/Check-in is Monday, July 22nd, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Camp Horizon Welcome Center.

2.              On Friday, July 26th, pick-up from camp is 11:00 am at the Dining Hall.  Those giving rides please wait quietly by the dining hall if we are not finished with closing activities.

3.              LDW Camp is located at Camp Horizon (30811 Horizon Drive, Arkansas City, KS  67005).  For more information or a map, go to:  www.horizoncenter.org.

 

What to bring:

c   Your Registration Form and Health Form(s) should already be completed online! 

(If not, you will not be allowed to stay at camp without these completed forms.)

c   Any medicine you are taking.  All medications must be marked with your name and camp, and given to the camp health care provider upon arrival.  The health care provider will keep it in the health care station while you are at camp.

c   Bring all the loose change that you can find to camp. This will be used for a penny war among the cabins to raise money for Imagine No Malaria.

c   Sturdy closed-toe shoes for hiking; closed-toe shoes for canoeing that can get wet; sandals/slip-on or open-toed shoes to wear to and from the pool.

c   Bible, paper and pen/pencil (preferably light weight/easy to carry).

c   Camp type clothes for each day (shorts, jeans, shirts, underwear, socks, etc.).

c   Clothes for high/low ropes challenge course as well as clothes for messy games.

c   Swimsuit and beach towel.

(Please make sure swimsuits are modest.  Campers that have swimsuits that are too revealing will not be allowed to swim unless they wear a t-shirt over the swimsuits.)

c   Personal items such as:  soap, toothbrush, deodorant, towel, shampoo, etc.

c   Sleeping bag/pillow.

c   Water bottle, flashlight, back pack, bug spray, sunscreen, and a rain jacket – in case of a rainy day.

c   Money for snacks/souvenirs at the Canteen ($2-3 for each day for snacks More if you want souvenirs!)

 

What NOT to bring:

c   Clothes and hats with alcohol, narcotic or tobacco slogans, symbols or sayings. 

(This includes:  marijuana leaves, hemp, “Red Dog”, “Joe Camel”, “Lizards,” etc…)

c   Cell phones, iPods, or any other electronic devices.

c    Alcohol, narcotic or tobacco products, lighters, fireworks, knives, expensive clothing or jewelry.
